The Shining Stars Preschool, a ministry of Kennewick First Christian Church, is a non-profit preschool whose goal is to help children learn the skills needed to succeed in school.
Your child will receive lots of love and hugs at our school. We are dedicated to providing educational opportunities and a nurturing environment for your child’s growth. The teachings of Jesus will be woven into our curriculum through daily Bible stories, songs and prayers, providing a general knowledge of God and His love for all His children.
Registration is open to children between 3 and 5 years of age. The Shining Stars Preschool has been serving the Tri-City community since 1994.
The Shining Stars Preschool is in session from September through May. Holiday schedules coincide with the Kennewick Public School District.
Our Curriculum
The goal of the preschool curriculum is to provide learning opportunities for the children to:
- Recognize colors and shapes
- Recognize and write their names
- Understand match concepts
- Experience activities in:
- Art, Music, Science, Language
- Social Groups, Dramatic Play
- Develop large and small motor skills during inside/outside play
- Grow spiritually through hearing Bible stories, Songs and Prayers
School Closure for Bad Weather
If the weather is such that school is closed, the teaching staff will notify KONA (610) radio station by 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the closure. Generally, the Preschool will coincide with the Kennewick School District. If the KSD is closed for the entire day, the Preschool will also be closed. If the KSD is delayed, we will be open and on time. It is your choice to come or not come. DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE AT THE CHURCH TO INQUIRE ABOUT SCHOOL CLOSURE. It is the responsibility of the parents to tune in to the radio station
